ChemVR
A VR and WebGL simulation series that lets first-year USC chemistry students rehearse lab procedures and safety protocols before entering a physical laboratory.
ChemVR is a series of VR and WebGL interactive simulations developed for first-year chemistry students at USC. The modules help students visualize essential lab procedures and safety protocols while becoming familiar with the laboratory environment.
My work focused on converting the glove hygiene module from VR into WebGL. The module depends on complex 3D interactions, so I reshaped the interaction system to work in a browser rather than a headset, then continued to update it.
The module demonstrates how potentially hazardous materials spread through a university lab when the proper PPE and procedure steps are not followed.
Early access is available on the ChemVR website.
